806. Captain John Duvall

(138) died before Apr 20 1711 in Maryland. Captain John Duvall may
have arrived in Maryland at a later date than his father, as there is a John
Duvall transported to Maryland on the St. George of London that year.
His father-in-law gave him and his wife the plantation known as "Wilson
Grove" of about 200 acres. By the end of his life he held lands in excess
of five thousand acres divided among several plantations
He was named a captain in the Anne Arundel County militia in the 1690's.
Captain John Duvall maintained an acknowledged mistress, Hester Ijams, and settled
on her 225 acres with the knowledge and consent of his wife. He had three children
by her. He was married to Elizabeth Jones.
