                 March Court Anno Domini 1747                                                (405)

Given under my hand this 3.d day of February 1747
       To the Clerk of                                                   Rob.t Hanson
       Charles County

Whereupon It was Commanded the sheriff that of the Goods Chattles
and Credits of the afs.d John Macdonald in his Bailywick being he should attach
as well the sum of four Hundred and forty Pounds of Tobacco Damages as five
Hundred Pounds of Tobacco for Costs that had accrued and that further should accrue
in Prosecution of the Premises and when the same he had attached or any Part
thereof that he should have it before the Justices of the Lord Proprietary of his Next
County Court to be held at Charles Town on the Second Tuesday in March Next
then and there to be Condemned according to Law to and for the use of the said Rob.t
Unless the said John should Come then and there by himself or Lawfull Attorney and
answer unto the said Robert of a plea of Trespass upon the Case and that by Good and
Lawfull men of his Bailywick he should make known to the Person or Persons
whose hands he should make the same attachment that he she or they be and appear
before the Justices of the said Lord Proprietary at the time and Place afs.d to shew Cause
if any he she or they have why the sum in their or any of their hands attached should not
be Condemned according to Law and the said Robert have thereof Execution if &C.a
and how he should Execute that Writt that he should make Known to the Justices
aforesaid at the Time and Place afs.d and that he should have then and there that
Writt and the Names of those before whom he should make the same Known &Ca

And now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in March afs.d Comes the said
Robert by Jeremiah Chase his attorney and offers himself against the said
Robert in the plea afs.d and the sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the writt afs.d
thus Indorsed Vizt

Charles County ss.t  I hereby Certify to the worshipfull the Justices within
mentioned that by Virtue of the within Writt to me Directed on the 4.th day of February
1747 I attached in the hands of the within Named Robert Gill sundry the
Effects of the within Named John Macdonald amounting to Nine Hundred
and Ninety pounds of Tobacco as p a schedule of Appraisment thereof hereto
annexed appears as I am hereby Command

Charles County ss.t  Wee the subscribers being Legally Summoned and sworn
to Appraise the goods of John Macdonald Late of the County abovesaid for the
use of Robert Gill by Virtue of an attachment by him Laid do appraise the
same as follows Viz.t
To Tobacco in the hands of William Cooksey
To 1 Iron Pott quantity 19.ll at 15ll p
To Old Bed
To 1 frying Pan
