(254) November Court Anno Domini 1747 Charles County ss.t On the 28.th day of October 1747 Came Sam: Hanson Jun.r before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices for said County & made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that the above account is Just & true as it Stands stabd & that neither he nor any Person for his use ever Received any part or parcel thereof or any security or satisfaction for the same to the best of his Knowledge S Hanson Charles County ss.t Whereas it hath been made appear to me by Sam: Hanson Jun.r that a Certain Wm Blois is Indebted unto him in the sum of one Thousand and Two pounds of Tobacco and that the said Blois is Absconded & Ran away from his late Place of abode These are therefore in his Lordships the Right Honourable Lord Proprys name to Command you to Issue attachment against the Goods & Chattles Rights and Credits of the said Blois for as much the said Sum of one Thousand & Two pounds of Tobacco as for what Costs have or that accrue in prosecuting the said Writ to my fail not at your Bril & for your so doing this shal be your sufficient authority Given under my hand this 28.th day of October 1747 To Mr Edmond Porteus Esq Charles County Court S Hanson Whereupon It was Commanded the sheriff of the Goods Chattles & Credits of the afs.d William in his Bailywick being he should attach as well the sum of One Thousand & Two pounds of Tobacco Damages as Eight Hundred Pounds of Tobacco for Costs that had accrued and that further should accrue in prosecution of the premises and when the same he had attached or any part thereof that he should have it before the Justices of the Lord Propry of his Next County Court to be held at Charles Town on the second Tuesday in Nov.r next then and there to be Condemned according to Law to and for the use of the said Samuel unless the s.d William should Come then and there by himself or Lawful Attorney and answer unto the said Samuel of a plea of Trespass upon the Case and that by Good & Lawful men of his Bailywick he should make Known to the Person or Persons in whose hands he should make the same Attachment that he she or they be and appear before the Justices of the said Lord Proprietary at the place and Time afs.d to shew Cause if any he she or they have why the same in their or any of their hands attached should not be Condemned according to Law and the said Samuel have thereof Execution if &C.a and how he should Execute that Writ that he should make known to the Justices afs.d at the Time and place afs.d and that he should have then and there that Writ and the Names of those before whom he should make the same known &Ca And now he is at this day to wit the second Tuesday in November afs.d Comes the said Samuel in his proper Person and offers himself against the said William in the plea afs.d and the sheriff afs.d Returns to the Court here the Writt afs.d thus Indorsed Charles County ss.t I hereby Certifie to the Justices within mentioned that by Virtue of the within Writ to me Directed that on the 31st day of October 1747 I attached in the hands of Henry James Junior the whole Damages & Costs before John Jenkins & James Keech Jun and I have made known to the Garnashee of the afs.d William Blois within mentioned that he (be) |
