Charles County ss.t   John Nail late of Charles County Carpenter was attached to
                               answer unto Ralph Falkner & Company of a plea of Trespass
                               upon the Case and so forth

    And Whereupon the same Ralph Falkner & Company by Jeremiah Chase
their attorney Complain that whereas the said John Neale the Twenty Sixth
day of august in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six
at Charles County afs.d was Indebted to said Falkner & Com in the sum of Three
Pounds Three Shillings and five pence Currency and one pound and Eight pence sterl
for such articles as by eproperly in an account as by the Particular account
thereof herewith into Court brought may appear and the said John being so
thereof Indebted in Consideration thereof afterwards to wit the day and year afs.d
at the County afs.d upon himself assumed and to the said Ralph Falkner & Com
then and there faithfully Promised that he the said John the said Sum of Three pounds
Three shillings and five pence Currency and one pound and Eight pence sterling
would well and truly Content and pay when thereunto afterwards he should
be requested  Nevertheless the said John his Promise and assumption afs.d
not regarding but minding and fraudulently Intending the said Falkner &
Company in this part craftily and subtilly to deceive and defraud the said sum of
Three pounds three shillings and five pence Currency and one pound and Eight
pence sterling or any part thereof to the said Falkner & Company hath not paid nor
any way Contented altho so to do the said John was thereto afterwards to wit
the first day of september in the year and at the County afs.d by the said Falkner
& Company Requested wherefore they say they are the Worse and have Damage
to the Value of six pounds six shillings and Ten pence Currency and Two pound
one shilling and four pence sterling and therefore they bring suit & so forth
