(199 And afterwards to wit the same Second Tuesday in Novr afs.d the she aforesaid Returns to the Court here that he hath done Execution of the said Judgm.t upon the aforesaid Mary Siliven' Whereupon into Court here in his Proper Person Comes Samuel King of Charles County Planter and becomes Pledge and Security for the aforesaid Mary to ^pay^ the several fees arisen due to the officers and ministers of the Court hereby occasion of the Premises
Be it Remembered that heretofore to wit the second Tuesday in August last by the oath of fifteen Jurors Namely Thomas Matthews &Ca was Presented Mary King for bearing a Bastard Child And now here at this day to wit the second Tuesday in November aforesaid the she afs.d Namely Thomas Hungerford Gent Returns to the Court that he has taken the body of the s.d Mary King And the said Mary King by Jeremiah Chase her attorney Comes and being Demanded by the Court here wether she be Guilty of the Bastardy afs.d above upon her Imposed she the said Mary says she is thereof Guilty in manner and form as by the Presentment afs.d against her it is alledged Therefore it is Considered that the said Mary be fined six Hundred Pounds of Tobacco or Thirty Shillings Current money for her offence aforesaid by the Court here adjudged according to the form force and Effect of the act of assembly in those Cases late made and Provided and the said Mary be taken &Ca Memorandum fine paid in Court to sheriff Whereupon into Court here in his proper person Came Samuel King of Charles County Planter and becomes pledge and Security for the several fees arisen to to the officers and ministers of the Court hereby occasion of the Premises Ruled that the said Mary King Recognize In the sum of Forty Pounds Current money of Maryland with one security in the sum of Twenty Pounds like money fee ^to^ keep the County of Charles Clear from any Burthen that may happen by means of the said Bastard Child whereof the is this day Convict Whereupon into Court here in her Proper Comes the said Mary King and acknowledged herself to owe and stand Justly Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary In the sum of Forty Pounds Current money of Maryland and also in like manner Came Samuel King of same County Planter and acknowledged himself to owe and Stand Justly (Indebted) |
