Court Anno Domini 1747
(177) Aforesaid doing therein what to Justice appertains according to the Laws Customs and Directions of the acts of assembly aforesaid so far forth as they Provide and where they are Silent according to the Laws Statutes and Reasonable Customs of England as used and Practised within this Province and further we do Constitute ordain and appoint you the said Benjamin Tasker George Plater Edmund Jenings Charles Hammond Samuel Chamberlaine Philip Thomas Daniel Dulany Edward Lloyd Benjamin Young Benjamin Tasker Jun.r and Richard Lee Esq.rs Robert Hanson Gustavus Brown Tho.s Stone Allen Davies Samuel Hanson William Middleton William Eilbeck Richard Harrison William Penn Walter Hanson John Winter Robert Yates Arthur Lee and Samuel Hawkins or any three or more of you as aforesaid to Issue out Writts Precepts Process & Attachments and hold plea of all actions Popular and of all actions Personal of whatsoever wherein the Demand doth not Exceed the sum of one Hundred Pounds sterling or Thirty Thousand Pounds of Tobacco and all actions Personal now depending before you and after Judgment Execution to award in all such Cases and Actions aforesaid according to the Laws Customs and Directions of the acts of assembly aforesaid so far forth as they provide and where they are silent according to the Laws Statutes and Reasonable Customs of England as used and Practised with in this Province in which said actions so to be tried we do Constitute Ordain and appoint you the said Benjamin Tasker Geo Plater Edmund Jenings Charles Hammond Samuel Chamberlain Philip Thomas Daniel Dulany Edward Lloyd Benjamin Young Benj.a Tasker Jun.r and Richard Lee Esq.rs Robert Hanson Gustavus Brown Thomas stone Allen Davis Samuel Hanson William Middleton William Eilbeck Richard Harrison William Penn Walter Hanson John Winter Robert Yates Arthur Lee and Samuel Hawkins and none others to be Judges also by these Presents we do command the sheriff of our said County of Charles that at the Several Courts to be held for our said County he give his attendance and Cause to Come before you or any Three or more of you as aforesaid such and so many Good and Lawfull men of his Bailywick out of each and every Hundred thereof by who the breath of the matter in the Premises may be the better Known and enquired of Lastly you shall Cause to be brought before you at your said Courts all Writts Precepts Process and Indictments to your Courts and Jurisdi^c^tions belonging that the same may be Inspected and by due Course of Law Determined Witness our trusty and well behaved Samuel Ogle Esq.r and Chief Governor of our said Province of Maryland this Twenty fourth Day of October in the 33d year of our Dominion &C.a Annoq Domini 1747 |
