92 Called Shad Gut ever since she Can Remember further this deponant saith not Taken and Given under hands and seals the 26.th day of Aprill 1740 Sam.ll Hopkins (seal) John Evans (seal) David Johnson (seal) John Purnell (seal) Evidences for the Defemdent Nathaniel Crapper S.r being sworn by the Commissioners on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God aged about 56 Years to the best of his remembrance that he Came Over Pateys Creek where the Judges were setteling the bounders of the Land between Francis Hamblyn and John Patey and that the Judges Came of the marsh where he understood that they had settled a bounder and was Running a Line through the woods what Course he did not know but marked trees as they went further saith not Aprill the 26.th 1740/1 Capt Charles Rackliffe aged about forty four years or thereabouts being sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God declares this deponant that he was about to purchase Francis Hamblyns Land and that the said Hamblyn Carried him round the Land Called Winchester and that he saw severall trees markt for bounders and Line trees and Coming down the Line between the said Pateys and Hamblyn that Hamblyn told the deponant that this is the Line the Land Justices Run Betweene Patey and him and then pinting a Cross down towards the Creek that the Judges settled the bounder down there by a small Creek but he was sure he was wronged by the Judges in there setteling the bounder therefor it was not there and that his pretensions were better than he thought for by Reason that his bounder was Lower down towards the mouth the said Creek if he had his Right to Shad Gut as his papers directed but the said deponant told Hamblyn he would buy no Land in dispute further this deponant saith not The Above depositions was taken for the deft vizt Nathaniel Crapper and ^Capt^ Charles Rackliffe by the Commissioners appointed for the Examind Evidences on winchester bounders Given under our hands and seals this 26.th day of Aprill 1740 Samuel Hopkins (seal) John Evans (seal) David Johnson (seal) John Purnell (seal) Ordered that William Dolby recover against Recover against John Coffin Ninety pounds of tobacco being due unto him for his attendance three days as an Evidence on behalfe of his Lordship against the said John Coffin he having made Oath to the same &a Ordered that Robert Givans recover against Patrick Connelly three hundred pounds of tobacco being due unto him for his Attendance tenn days as an Evidence on behalf of his Lordship against the said Patrick Connelly he haveing made Oath to the same &c Ordered that Ann Richardson recover against Patrick Connelly two hundred and Seventy pounds of tobacco being due unto her for her attendance nine days as an Evidence on behalf of his said Lordship against the said Patrick Connelly she haveing made Oath to the same &c Ordered that Solomon Hitch recover against the af.d Patrick Connelly ninety pounds of tobacco being due unto |
