And the af.d Adam Brafford by Geo: Douglas his attorney Cometh and defendeth
the force and Injury when &a  and saith that he Cannot deny the action af.d of the
af.d Adam Bell nor but that the writing obligatory af.d is the deed of the same
Adam ^Brafford^ nor but that he oweth the same ^Adam Bell the afd^ sixty pounds Currt money in manner
and form as the af.d Adam Bell above against him declared

    Therefore it is Considered ^that^ the af.d Adam Bell recover against the af.d Adam
Brafford his debt af.d and his damages by occasion of the detention of the same debt
to two hundred & ninety five pds of tob.o to the same Adam Bell of his assent by the Court
here adjudged and the afd Adam Brafford in mercy &a  And afterwards to witt the twenty
first day of march ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty Seven Came
hereinto Court the afd Adam Brafford in his proper person  and thereupon the said
Adam Brafford is Committed into the Custody of the Sheriffe of the County afd to be by
him safely keep thereto remain untill the said Adam Bell of his debt and damages afd
should be full satisfyed &a  the plft releaseth the panalty reserving principall debt
and Interest untill payment &a

planter al.s dict Mathias Nicholson planter was Somoned
to answer unto Adam Bell of a plea that he render him sixty
pounds Currt money of maryland which to him he owes and unjustly detains &.a

And Whereupon the said Adam by Robert Jenckins Henry his attorney says that
whereas the said Mathias on the thirteenth day of June Anno Dom MDCCXXXvij
at the County af.d by his Certain writing obligatory which the said Adam sealed
with the seal of the said Mathias hereinto Court brings whose date is the same day
and year af.d  did acknowledge himself to be held and firmly bound to the said Adam
in the said sixty pound Currt money af.d to be paid to the said Adam his Ex.rs &a
when thereunto required  Nevertheless the said Mathias the said sixty pounds to
the said Adam hath not rendred but the same to him to render hitherto hath denyed
and still doth deny and unjustly detain altho' thereto afterwards to witt on the
first day of march in the year af.d at the County af.d and often since that time by the said
