1737 217 of Somerset County that he Should take Robert Collier Late of Somerset County planter if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in the same County third tuesday of June Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven to answer unto Peter Taylor of a plea of trespass upon the Case &a Att which day here before his Lordships Justices at ^a^ Court then held at deviding Creek in the County af.d came the af.d Peter Taylor by Charles Goldsborough his attorney and the sherriffe to witt Joseph M.ccClester Gent now here returned that he had taken the af.d Robert Collier whose body hereat this day he had ready to answer the af.d Peter Taylor of the af.d plea as to him it was Commanded And hereupon the said Robert Collier puts in his place Robert Jenckins Henry Gent attorney at Law against the af.d Peter Taylor in the af.d plea Whereupon at the request of the parties day is given to the parties af.d here before his Lordships Justices at deviding Creek untill the third tuesday of August then next following in the same state as at present serving to the parties &a Att which day here before his Lordship Justices at deviding Creek Came as well the af.d Peter Taylor as the af.d Robert Collier by their attorneys af.d and hereupon the said Peter Taylor declared against the af.d Robert Collier in the plea af.d in form following Somerset County sst Robert Collier Late of Somerset County planter was attached to answer unto Peter Taylor of a plea of trespass upon the Case &.a And Whereupon the same Peter by Charles Goldsborough his attorney complaineth that whereas he the same Peter is a quiet peaceably honest and Inoffensive subject of our Lord the King that now is and as a good true quiet peaceable honest and Inoffencive ^subject^ of the same Lord the King and of divers of his progenitors late Kings and Queens of England from the time of his nativity hitherto himself hath behaved and Governed and of good name Credit fame and behaviour among all his neighbours and other Subjects of our said Lord the King was held and reputed and from the stains or charges of trespasses or any other hurtfull or Malicious Crime thro' the time of his whole life past past free and Clear hath remained and Continued by means whereof the same Peter the favour good will and esteem of his neighbours and other Subjects of the said Lord the King to whome the same Peter was known got and obtained and whereas he the said Peter never did with force and arms unlawfully take |
