                Negro Sarah

Maryland Harford County to wit
                I hereby certify that the bearer
hereof Negro Sarah (who calls herself Sarah
Chew) aged about Twenty Seven Years of a
light complexion pleasant countenance
five feet four and a half Inches high has
a very small scar on her forehead in
a straight line with her nose  was manumitted
by the heirs of Rachel Hopkins late of
Harford County deceased bearing date the
13.th day of October Eighteen hundred and
thirteen  and recorded in Liber H D N.o
Y folio 3  one of the land record Books
of Harford County and was born in Harford
County aforesaid
                            In Testimony whereof I have
                    hereunto set my hand and affixed
                    the seal of my office this first day
                    of November Eighteen hundred
                    and twenty seven

Maryland Harford County to wit
             I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof
Negro Emely Jolly   aged about twenty years of
a dark complexion five feet three inches high
with a scar large scar on her right knee also
a scar on her left foot near the instep occasioned
by a horses's treading on it was born free
