                    Negro Betse

Maryland Harford County To wit
I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof Negro
Betse forty years of age dark complexion
five feet six inches and a half high has a small
scar on the left middle finger has good front
teeth.  The said Negro Betse became free by
virtue of a deed of manumission Executed by
John Davis on the 28.th day of March 1807 and
Recorded in Liber H. D. No T folio 98 one of the
land Record Books of Harford County Court
             In Testimony whereof I have hereto set
             my hand and affixed the seal of Harford
             County Court this 12th day of June 1832

                         Negro Jane

Maryland Harford County To wit
       I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof Negro
Jane twenty two years of age five feet five inches high
has rather a dark complexion has a small scar on
the back of the right hand said to have been done with
a door also has a dark scar on the neck said has to
have been occasioned by a burn also has a defect on
the end of the right little finger.  The said Negro Jane
was born free and raised in harford County
                   In Testimony whereof I have hereto set
                   my hand and affixed the seal of Harford
                   County Court this fourteenth day of June
                   Eighteen hundred and thirty two
