                    Negro Maria

Maryland Harford County to wit:
I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof Negro Maria
twenty one years of age a dark mulatto five feet
one inch and a half high has a very small scar
on the left wrist near the joint was born ^became^ free
by virtue of a deed of manumission executed by
Benjamin O Elizabeth Lester to her mother Negro
Margarett on the 2nd day of January 1809 and
Recorded in Liber H D N.o U folio 166 one of
the land Record Books of Harford County Court
       In Testimony Whereof I have hereto set
       my hand and affixed the seal of Harford
       County Court this thirty first day of may
       Eighteen hundred and thirty two

                I hereby Certify that the bearer hereof Negro
Hannah Rick forty years of age rater light
complection five feet five and a half inches high has
a scar over the left eye and the lower corner of the
left ear double and a mould on the same ear was
born free and raised in Harford County
                      In Testimony whereof I have
                   hereto subscribed my name and
                   affixed the seal of Harford County
                   Court this thirty first day of May
                   Eighteen hundred and thirty two
