98 To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that a negro woman now present named Mary Roberts who is the daughter of Harriet is the identical person mentioned in a deed of manumission executed on the 14 March 1837 by Robert Campbell and George W Thomas to be free from and after the 15 day of May 1854 May 27 1854 Geo W T Perkins Mary is five feet three and one half inches high & has a small mark on the nose between the eyes black complexion & about twenty nine years of age Filed and recorded & certificate issued May 27 1857 by J F Gordon clk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County Md This is to certify that Jack Barroll now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in Kent County and is now about twenty five years of age of a black complexion May 28 1857 Wm S Lassell Jack is five feet eleven & one half inches high Filed recorded & certificate issued May 28 1857 by J F Gordon clk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that Jim Wright a negro man now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in Kent County and is now about twenty three years of age May 30 1857 Jas F Taylor Jim is five feet four inches high dark complexion & has a scar on the left wrist Filed recorded & certificate issued May 30 1857 by J F Gordon clk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that a negro man called Joe Anderson |
