151 To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby Certify that a Negro Woman now present and applying for a Certificate of freedom named Louisa Redding is the Identical negro Woman mentioned in a Deed of manumission by the name of Louisa from Wm Burrows to sundry negroes and recorded in Liber J N G No 2 pages 463 & 464 and was raised in Kent County March 27 1860 Geo C M Brooks Louisa is 4 feet 11½ inches high of a dark complexion and is now about 37 years old with scar on right wrist Filed recorded & Certificate issued March 27 1860 By Jesse K Hines Clerk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby certify that a negro Woman now present and applying for a certificate of freedom named Matilda Johnson is the daughter of Sebey who was manumitted by Richard Snowden Thomas in a deed of manumission dated the 23d day of February in the year 1814 and recorded in Liber B C No 3 pages 109 & 110 one of the chattle records for Kent County the issue to be free at the age of 21 years of age Matilda is now about 33 years old John L Stam march 28 1860 Matilda is 5 feet 3½ inches high of dark complexion with small scars on her right Cheek Filed recorded & Certificate issued March 28 1860 By Jesse K Hines, Clerk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby Certify that a negro man now present and applying for a certificate of freedom named Frisby Spencer aged about forty five years was born free and raised in Kent |
