113 To The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that a negro man named Thomas Brown who is now present and applying for a Certificate of Freedom was Born Free and Raised in Kent County June 22nd 1858 Joseph Maslin Thomas is about 41 years old 5 ft & 8¾ inches high and of a dark complexion mark on the fore finger of the Right Hand and a Scar on the Right cheek Near the mouth Filed Recorded & certificate issued on the 22nd day of June 1858 By Jesse K Hines clerk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby certify that a negro woman now present and applying for a certificate of Freedom named Hester Ann Murray is the Identical negro mentioned in a Bill of Sale from Joel Vickers to James Deford and in a deed of manumission from Said Vickers to said negro woman now on record in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County June 22nd 1858 W.m A Rollisson Hester Ann is 30 yrs old 5 feet 2½ inches high with a scar on her right wrist near the Palm of the hand Filed Recorded & certificate issued on the 22nd day of June 1858 By Jesse K Hines Clerk To Jesse K Hines Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby certify that a negro woman now present and applying for a certificate of Freedom named Mary Ann Wilson aged about 40 years is the identical woman mentioned by me in a Bill of Sale to one Amos Gregory in which Said Bill of sale Said negro woman was to be free in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty six and I further certify that She was raised in Kent County June 22nd 1858 William Parker |
