1736 262 Wherefore your Petitioner prayes he may have the liberty of altering the said road and clearing the same on the other side of the said ridge which will make the said road shorter and no way worse and will not be detrimentall to any person whatsoever and a great benefitt to your Petitioner your worships granting your petitioners request will as in duty bound ever pray the petition afd being read and heard and fully understood and mature deliberation thereupon had Wherefore it is Considered that the afd Lewis Jones have Liberty of turning of the Said road as by the petition afd is praid he first making the New road as good and passable as the old and noe ways prejudicially to any person or persons whatsoever &a
age together that she can scarcely walk and no way capable of doing your petitioner any service in workin in the Ground and but verry little within doors and your petitioner thinks it a Great piece of hardship on him to pay her leavy yearly your petitioner therefore most humbly prays that your worships would be pleased to take it into your wise and serious consideration and that seing the said negro woman is so disabled that your worships will order the said negro woman to be sett leavy free and your petitioner as in duty bound will ever pray The petition aforesaid being read and heard and mature deliberation thereupon had wherefore it is Considered by the Justices here that the afd Elgate Hitch be discharged for the future from paying Levys for the afd Negro woman Hannah as by the petition afd is praid &a
desiers that it may stand as the main road and Continue the road from pocomoke on the north side of the head of the said Creek and your petitioner as in duty bound doth pray the |
