July the 17.th 1730   Then Came Andrew Scott before me the Subscriber One of his Lordships Justices of the peace for Somerset County and
made Oath on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God that the above account is Just and true and that he hath Rec.d no part nor percell
thereof the same Sworn to before me                                                            John Scott

          a Copy of a Short note setting forth the Cause of action was made and sent to be Left at the Last place of the abode of
the said deft according to act of assembly in such Case made and provided &c

          Att which said third tuesday of August to witt the Eighteenth day of the Same month anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred
and thirty being the day of the Return of the Said Writt Cometh the said Andrew Scot by his attorney aforesaid and the sher
of Somerset County to whom the foregoeing writt was directed Likewise Cometh and maketh return thereof to the Court here
Endorsed in these words following vizt Non est Inventus short note Left   P John Purnall sher

          Whereupon the said Andrew Scott by his attorney aforesaid prays that for as much as he has Complyed with the Law in order to
an attachment he may have Judgment against the said Hugh Scott for his damages aforesaid by way of attachment according to act
of assembly &.c   Whereupon for that it Seems to the Court here that the said Andrew has Complyed with the Law as alledged

                   Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here the Eighteenth day of August anno Dom One thousand seven hundred
and thirty that the afd Andrew Scott recover against the afd Hugh Scott Six pounds Eleven shillings Currant Mony of Maryland
200      expended about his suit by way of attachment against the goods Chattells rights or Creditts of the of attachment said Hugh
Scott according to act of assembly in Such Case made and provided &c

     Command was Given to the sher of Somerset County that he should take William
           Catlin late of Somerset County planter if he should be found in his bailywick and him should
safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordship's County Court of Somrset
                      to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of August then Next to answer unto William Smith of a plea
    why with force and Armes upon the said William Smith he an assault did make and him did beat wound and Evill intreat
and Other Enormities to him did to the grevious damage of him the said William Smith and against the peace &.c and that
thereof he should not fail &c
                                                                     Att which said third tuesday of August to witt the Eighteenth day of the same
month Ann.o Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty being the day of the return of the said Writt Cometh the afd Will.m
Smith by Thomas Bluett his attorney and the sher of Somerset County aforesaid to whom the foregoeing writt was directed
Likewise Cometh and maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in these words following viz.t
                                                                                                          Cepi Corpus P John Purnall sher

    And the afd William Smith by Thomas Bluett his attorney aforesaid Complains against the afd Wm Catlin in the
plea aforesaid as followeth vizt

                      Somerset County ss   William Catlin late of Somerset County planter was attached to answer unto
                            William Smith of a plea why with force and Armes upon the said William Smith he an assault did
                            make and him did beat wound and Evill treat and Other Enormities to him did to the Greivous
                            damage of him the said William Smith and against the peace &c

             And whence the said William Smith by Thomas Bluett his attorney Complains that the said William Catlin on
the fifteenth day of June in the Year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and thirty with force and Armes in and
upon the said William Smith at Somerset County aforesaid an assault did make and him did then and there beat
wound and Evill intreat and Other Enormities &.c to the greivous Damage &.c and against the peace &.c to the damage
of him the said William Smith twenty pounds Currant Money and thence he Sues &.c
