day of November anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty Eight with force and arms in and upon a Certain George Benston of Somersett County in the peace of God &.c being did make an assault and affray and him the Same George Benston then and there did beat wound and Evill Intreat so that of his life it was despaired and Other harms to him did to the great damage of the Same George Benston & against the peace of the said Lord proprietary Dashiell prosecutor for his Lordship Testes Elizabeth Tull Hannah Noble On the backside of the foregoeing bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed viz.t Ignoramus George Scott foreman Ordered by the Court that Thomas Leatherbery pay unto John Rusell Sixty pounds of tobacco being due unto him for his attendance two days as an Evidence for the Said Thomas Leatherbury agt Peirce Dant he having made Oath to the Same &c Ordered by the Court that Margarett Waile pay unto John Tilman One hundred and Eighty pounds of tobo being due unto him for his attendance Six days as Evidence for the Said Margarett Waile against Andrew Thompson he having made Oath to the Same &c Ordered by the Court that Margrett Waile pay unto James Longer Sixty pounds of tobacco being due unto him for his attendance two days as an Evidence for the said Margt Waile against Andrew Thompson he having made Oath to the Same &c Ordered by the Court that Marg.t Waile pay unto Daniel Maddox Ninety pounds of tobacco being due unto him for his attendance as an Evidence ^three days^ for the Said Margt Waile against Andrew Thompson he haveing made Oath to the same &c Ordered by the Court that Philip Taylor pay unto William Porter four hundred and twenty pounds of Tobacco being due unto him for his attendance as an Evidence fourteen days for the said Philip Taylor against John Denston he having made Oath to the same &c Ordered by the Court that Philip Taylor pay unto Teague Riggin two hundred and tennty One pounds of tobacco beings due unto him for his attendance seven days as an Evidence for the said Philip Taylor against John Denston he having made Oath to the Same &c Ordered by the Court that M.r John Caldwell and M.r John Handy agree with some person to keep Jefferson an object of Charity till next November Court and find her such Necessarys as is Sufficient and they the said Caldwell and Handy to make their report at next ^the same^ Court &c Ordered by the Court that That Capt John Scott and Thomas Hayward agree with some person to make a press in the Court hous for the Keeping of the records and Likewise for the Covering of the Court House &c |
