64 Identical person who was manumitted as aforesaid; I do hereby Certify that the said Black man called Henry is five feet five Inches high or thereabout has a scar on his left arm about three Inches above the wrist and from the age expressed in the manumission he is about twenty five years of age was raised in Caroline County and has no other notable marks which I can discover (Seal) In Testimony &.c 29.th Dec.r 1814 Tho Richardson Clk C. C. C. State of Maryland Caroline County to wit Whereas on the Tenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and two Charles Blair of Caroline County afs.d by a Deed of manumission duly Executed acknowledged and Recorded amongst the Records of Caroline County and manumit and set free a negro man named Paris to be free from and after the first day of January Eighteen hundred and twelve and whereas the said negro man named Paris hath made application to me for a certificate of his freedom agreeably to the act of assembly in such case made and provided and being satisfied by the oath of Robert Stevens Esq.r of the County afs.d that the said Negro man named Paris is the Identical person mentioned in the manumission afs.d I do therefore grant his said application and hereby certify from the age expressed in the said manumission afs.d the same negro man named Paris is about twenty Eight years of age was raised partly in Caroline County he is five feet seven inches high or thereabout dark complexion has a considerable scar on his right arm below the bend of the elbow |
