To Joseph Richardson Clerk of Caroline County   The undersigned
a free negro of Caroline County wishing to visit the City of Philadelphia
for the purpose of seeing her relations   By an act of this State
necessary my intentions should be made known to you   It is my
intention to return to this County again within thirty days from this
date   Given under my hand this 24.th day of May 1843
