I Francis Wayman free negro of Caroline County State of Maryland
having deposited with the clerk a written statement of my intention
of leaving this to go to Philadelphia for the purpose of seeing my
sick son it is my intention to return here again as soon as the
situation of my son will permit
             Given under my hand this 29th day of April Anno
             Domini 1839
