    22                                    March Court 1717
   Sett forth upon himselfe assumed and to the Said Plt. then and there faithfully
   Promised that he the Said Deft~. ye afd one pound Currant money Creditted as —
   afd and also So much Currant money of America as the afd Goods and —
   Merchandizes Sold & delivered as afd at the time of the Sale & delivery —
   thereof at reasonable rates & prices were worth and amount to unto the
   Said Plt~. when thereunto required would well and truly pay & Content
   and the afd Deft~. indeed Saith that the afd Goods & Merchandizes Sold &
   delivered as afd at the time of the Sale & delivery thereof at reasonable
   rates & prices were worth & Amounted unto the Sume of Nine pounds
   fifteen Shillings & five pence Currant money of America in manner
   as in the afd Account Shewn of which the afd Deft~ had then & there afd
   notice Nevertheless the afd Deft~. his promise and assumption afd In forme
   afd made as to the afd Severall Sumes of money in ye whole amounting
   to tenn pounds fifteen Shillings and five pence Currant money of Ameri[:]
  :ca litle regarding but fraudulently intending ye Said Plt. in that~
   behalf to deceive and defraud the afd Tenn pounds fifteen Shillings
   & five pence to the Said Plt. altho’ on the third day of Aprill and often—
   after Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & Sixteen he was at the Parish
   afd in Kent County afd within ye Jurisdiciõn afd thereto required hath not~
   paid nor made Content for the Same but that~ to pay or Content the Sd
   Deft~ hitherto hath denied and Yet~ denys to the damage of the Said .
   Plt~. Twenty pounds Currant money of America and thereupon he
   brings Sute &ca ——

     And the afd Plt~. by his attry afd prays that the Said Deft~ may
   to his Declaration afd Answer . . . But the Said cause was by —
   the Court Continued untill the then next Court in Course — ——
      Att which Said next Court vizt. the Eighteenth day of June Anno
   Domini One Thousand Seven hundred and Seventeen the Same cause-
   was Continued untill the then next Court in Course
        Att which Said next Court viz the Twentieth day of August the Same
   Year last mentioned the Same cause was Continued untill the
