November Court 1718 157 Court house in the Town of Chester in Said County on the third tuesday in November next then and there to be Condemned according to Act of Assembly to and for the use of a Certain James Smith unless he the Said Charles Johnson by himself or his attorney Shall appear and answer unto the Said James Smith in a plea of Trespass upon the Case according to Law and that by good and Lawfull men of your Bailywick you make known unto the person or person in whose hands you make the Same Attachment that he She or they be and appear before the Justices of our Said Court to be held as afd to Shew cause if any he She or they have why the Same goods. Chattells rights or Credits so attached in his her or there hands ought not to be Condemned according to Law if to him her or them it Shall Seem meet and and how you Shall Execute this writ that you make known unto our Said Justices this writ witness Nathaniel Hynson Gent: chiefe Justice of our Said Court this 22d day of August in the fourth Year of our Dominion &ca. Annoq Domini 1718 TBowne pr qr Jams Smith Clk Att which Said Court vizt. the Eighteenth day of November the Same Year last mentioned the day of return of Said writ of Attachment came Simon Wilmer Gent. high Sherrife of Said County and made return thereof in these words thereon endorsed as folls vizt. By vertue of the within writ to me directed I Certifie to the Justices within mentioned that I have attached of the goods and Chattells Rights & Credits of the within named Charles Johnson the quantity of Thirty bushells of Salt of the value of thirty Shillings Currant money in the hands of Thomas Ringgold and in the hands of Thonas Jones one old Shallop with the old Standing Rigen and old Sayles of the value of Six pounds Currant money And in the hands of Abraham Melton one hundred forty eight foot of plank to the value of Eleven Shillings Currant money and in the hands of Samuel Clarke one black mare of the price of forty Shillings Currant money and in the hands of Christopher Bateman one old Sadle of the value fifteen Shillings Currant money and in the hands of William Thomas one pistole of the value of twenty four Shillings Currant money and in the hands of Nathaniel Pearce Goods and Chattells to the value of two pounds five Shillings and Six pence Currant. money viz (Nine Sider muggs Earthen four quart earthen muggs three point ditto two Small Saucers five knives and forkes one pair Gloves two Grose pipes and forty pounds powder) which in the whole amounts to the Sume of fourteen pounds five Shillings and Six pence Currant money and have the Same ready to be Condemned according to Law to and for the use of the within named James Smith and have made known to the afd persons in whose hands I have made the Same attachment That they and every of them be and ap: :pear at the time and place within mentioned if they or any of them have any cause to Shew why Condemnation of the afd Goods and Chattells Rights and Credits Should not be Condemned according to Law to Satisfie unto the afd James Smith his damages and part Cost in obtaining the Same Attachment before Samuel Wickes and John Evans Thomas Piner and Andrew Macdaniel John Evans and Samuel Clarke John Sutton & William Granger John Evans and William Thomas William Frisby and |
