175 be his free act and deed Dorsey Jacob J P Recorded the 7 day of May 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave Lewis Pack has enlisted in the service of the united states: now in Consideration thereof I J E J Pumphrey of Anne Arundel County state of Maryland do hereby in Consideration of said enlistment Manumit Set free and release the above named Lewis Pack from all Service due me his freedom to Commence from the March 31 1864 the date of his enlistment as aforesaid in the 39 Regiment of Colored Troops in the service of the united States Witness my hand and Seal this 6 day of May 1864 Jn E I Pumphrey (Seal) Witness J Lee Webster Addison Johnson Dorsey Jacob Anne arundel County State of Maryland ay 6 1864 U S Internal Before me appeared this day J E I Pumphrey Revenue Stamp and acknowledged the above Deed of Manumission 5 Cents D J and Release of Service to be his free act and deed 6 May 1864 Dorsey Jacob J P A A Co Recorded the 7 day of May 1864 E Deed of Manumission and Release of Service Whereas my slave Lewis J Henson has enlisted in the service of the united states Now in Consideration thereof |
