546 be free at the Expiration of of said term of ten years And further he doth certify that the sd Bill of sale was duly acknowledged before me Richard Libby then a Justice of the peace for the county of Alexandria and he doth further certify that the said Milly did serve out the said term of ten years and that to the best of his knowledge has since resided in the family of the Rev.d Job Guest Given under my hand this twenty third day July 1833 Signed and acknowledged In the presence of Richd Rock Benoni wheat William Dixon District of Columbia Corporation of Alexandria to wit I hereby Certify that Richard Rock personally appeared before me the undersigned Mayor of Alexandria and made oath in due form of law that an statement hereunto annexed is just & true In testimony whereof I have hereunto (Seal) subscribed my name & affixed the seal of the Corporation of Alexandria this 23d February 1833 John Roberts Mayor To all whom it may concern Be it known that I Elijah Moore of Tuscarawas County in the State of Ohio for divers good causes and considerations I thereunto moving have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free my negro woman named Milly Jenkins being of the age of thirty two years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro woman named Milly Jenkins I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me |
