425 years and I do hereby declare the above named negroes to be manumitted discharged and set free from all manner of service or servitude to me and from all person or persons whomsoever according to terms above mentioned In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of June Eighteen hundred and twenty nine Signed sealed and delivered In presence of Interlined 17 page before signing Gideon White Elizabeth Robinson (seal) Harriet Selby At the foot of the aforegoing was thus Endorsed to wit Anne Arundel County sst On the 13 day of June 1829 appears Elizabeth Robinson before the subscriber a Justice of the peace for said County and acknowledged the above Instrument of writing to be her act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the act of assembly in such case made and provided Chd Gideon White Exd 3¼ Recorded the 13th day of June 1829 To all whom it may concern be it known that I Frederick Scott for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving also in further consideration of the sum of five dollars to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted & set free & by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit & set free my negro girl named Catharine Cox being of the age of twenty four years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and her the said negro girl named Catharine Cox I do hereby declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude (or) |
