In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 19th day of February Eighteen hundred and twenty one Signed Sealed and delivered in presence of Humphrey Dorsey Juliann Dorsey (seal) John Whalen At the foot of the aforegoing deed was thus written to wit: Anne Arundle County to wit: on this 19th day of Feby 1821 personally appears Julia Ann Dorsey party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of maryland for the County afores.d and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned and the said negroe men therein named to be according to said instrument of writing manumited and set free from her and all manner of persons claiming them by through or under her according to the true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such cases made & provided Chd Acknowledged before Henry Whalen 3 Recorded the 3d day of march 1821 To all whom it may concern Be it known That I Hester Hood of anne a County in the State of maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further Consideration of seven hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents (do) |
