326 of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving do hereby agree to be released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro girl named Ann aged 6 years to be free at the age of 35 years from the date of this manumittion also the increase of the said Ann to be free when they arive at the age of 35 years and then the said Ann and her increase I do declare to be at the time specified free manumitted and discharged from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 17th day of November in the year of our Lord 1815 Signed Sealed and delivered Stephen Boone (seal) in presence of James MacKubin J.r John Cross On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Anne Arundel County to wit: On this 17 day of November 1815 personally appeares Stephen Boone party to the above instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace of the State of Maryland for the said County and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes above mentioned and the negro girl above specified manumitted and discharged from all services to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such cases made and provided acknowledged before Ex.d d.d James MacKubin J.r chd 2¾ Recorded the 21st day of November 1815 |
