290 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Joseph Stansbury of Ann Arundel County & in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereto moveing as also in further consideration of one dollar current money to me in hand paid have released from slavery liberated manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Perter Goold being of the age of twenty seven years and able to work and gaine a efficience livelyhood and maintenance and him the said negro man named Peter Goold I do declare to be henceforth free manumited and discharged from all manner of servitude or servis to me me my executors administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this fifth day of Janairy in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen Signed Sealed and delivered Joseph Stansbury (seal) in the presence of Abner Linthicum Oliver Cromwell On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit Ann Arundel County & State of Maryland to wit On this the fifth day of January 1815 personally appears Joseph Stansbury party to the within instrument of writing before us the subscribers two Justices of the peace for the county afforesaid and acknowledges the within riteing to be his |
