288 maintenance and him the said negro man named Samuel Allen I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted from all manner of servitude or service to me my executors or administrators forever. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth day of October in the year of our Lord 1814 Signed Sealed and delivered her in the presence of Jane X Woodward (seal) John Welch mark his Jesse X Rutledge mark On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit: Anne Arundel County s.t On this thirteenth day of October 1814 personally appears Jane Woodward party to the within instrument of writing before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace for the county aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be her act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the negro man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all services to her or any claiming under her and to be free and manumitted according to the act of Assembly in such case made and provided Acknowledged before chd John Welch 2¾ Recorded the 6.th day of February 1815 To all whom it may concern Be it Known that I Henry Robinson (a black man) of Anne Arundel County in the State of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving as also in further consideration of the m of one dollar |
