137 the County aforesaid and acknowledges the same to be his act and deed for the purposes within mentioned and the said yellow man within named to be henceforth manumitted and discharged from all service to him or to any claiming under him and to be free and manumitted according to the Act of assembly in such cases made and provided Acknowledged before p.d Joseph Sands 3 sds Recorded the 12.th day of January 1811 Know all men by these presents that I Horatio Samuel Gibson of Anne Arundel County for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have manumitted liberated and set free a certain negro woman slave named Patty aged thirty five years and by these presents do manumit liberate and set free the said negro woman Patty and each of the Children or issue that the said Patty may hereafter bring forth. Hereby declaring her the said Patty and all and every the issue she may hereafter have to be totally and absolutely free clear and exempt from all kind of claim or demand of myself my heirs executors and administrators. In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal on this eleventh day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven Signed Sealed and delivered H. S. Gibson (seal) in the presence of Horatio Ridout Ann Goldsborough On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed to wit State of Maryland sc.t Anne Arundel County to wit |
