17 Anne Arundel County Sc.t I Nicholas Harwood clerk of Anne Arundel County Court. Do hereby Certify that it appears by a deed of manumission from Daniel of St Thomas Jenifer bearing date the fourteenth day of April Seventeen hundred and ninety and recorded amongst the records of anne arundel County Court that negro Jane aged about forty two years was to be free from January Seventeen hundred and ninety Six. she is about five feet four inches her Complexion black was raised in Anne Arundel County. Peggy Hackman of said county made oath before Joseph Sands a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid that the said negro Jane is the identical person mentioned in the said deed of Manumission Issued the sixth day of may 1807 State of Maryland Ann Arundel County sct I Nicholas Harwood clerk of ann arundel county court Do hereby certify that a negro man named William Green who is now present and who has made application to me for a certificate of his freedom has proved by testimony which is satisfactory to me that he is free born the said William Green is about five feet six or seven inches high of the age of about twenty two years his complexion black was born and bred at the head of south river in ann arundel county aforesaid he does not appear to have any notable marks Iss.d the 9.th day of may 1807 State of Maryland anne arundel county Sc.t I Nicholas Harwood clerk of ann arundel county |
