On the twenty first day of January Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and Six Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid Francis Shekell and acknowledged the same party to the within Instrument of writing to be his Act and Deed and the signature and seal thereto affixed to be respectively his for the use and purpose therein mentioned Acknowledged before Cha D Hodges Recorded 29th February 1806 Examd Know all men by these presents that I John Brice of the City of Annapolis for divers good Considerations have manumitted and set free and by these presents do hereby manumit and set free the following negroes at the several Periods therein after mentioned to wit.
