January 1806 personally appears Nicholas Boston party
to the within Instrument of writing before me the subscriber
a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland for the said
County and acknowledged the same to be his Act and deed
for the purposes within mentioned and ^the^ Woman Sibb
within named to be henceforth manumitted & discharged
from all Services to him or to any claiming under him
and to be free manumitted according to the Act of
Assembly in such Case made and provided

                                                To all whom these
presents shall come Greeting I Joseph Cowman of
Anne Arundel County in the State aforesaid for divers
good Causes & considerations me thereunto moving do
hereby free manumit and Enfranchise The following
negroes To wit Doff that was manumitted by Richard
and margaret Roberts of Calvert County To be free on at
The End of two years from the first of January next in
Consequence of which I do agree should she have any
Children in time of her Servitude if makes to be free at the
age of twenty or females to be free at the age of twenty one
and ^in^ this manner and form their increase to be free  To the
last generation Benjamin born 27th February 1801  Richard
