176 within mentioned Rezin Hammond has this 13 April 1804 appeared before me one of the Justices of the peace for the County afsd and acknowledged the above to be his act & deed before H. H. Dorsey Recorded 24th April 1804 Ex.d State of Maryland Ann Arundel County sc.t To all whom it may concern. Be it known That for divers good causes me thereunto moving I Joseph Evans of the county aforesaid do hereby manumit and declare free agreeably to the Terms herein after specified to wit; my negro Girl named Charity aged about eleven years to be free on the twenty second day of August Eighteen hundred and Eighteen and the issue of the aforesaid female (if any) born after the date of these presents and the issue of such issue shall be free if males at twenty five years of age and if females at the age of twenty one years. Hereby declaring and acknowledging the said negro Girl Charity as aforesaid free and forever discharged from all claim of service right or property whatsoever from me or any claiming under me my heirs executors administrators or assigns from and after the expiration of the twenty second day of August Eighteen hundred and Eighteen and the issue of the aforesaid female (if any) born after the date of these presents and the issue of such Issue shall be free if males at twenty five |
