152 of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the public (seal) seal of my office this fifteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and Three Upton Beall Cl of Montgomery County Court Recorded 18th day of August 1803 Ex.d Be It remembered by all persons whom it may concern that I Nicholas Matthews of Ann Arundel COunty in the State of Maryland do hereby manumit and set free from bondage the following negro to wit. Stephen Matthews aged about twenty three years and do for myself my heirs Executors and administrators release unto the said negro all my right claim and demand whatsoever as to his person or to any and all Estate he may hereafter acquire Hereby declareing the said negro Stephen Mathews to be absolutely free from the day of the date hereof without any interruption from me or from any person claiming under me.
