Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

Daniel Matthews
 it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof named Daniel Matthews aged about
forty four years about five feet seven inches high
light complexion, has a scar on the right arm
and one on the nose between the eyes is one of
the persons manumitted by Richard Hopkins by
deed dated the sixteenth day of April in the
year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and ninety six and that he was raised
in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 26.th day of april 1832




Lydia Matthews
     Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel
County Court do hereby Certify that it hath
been proved to my satisfaction that the
bearer hereof named Lydia Matthews aged
about forty two years about five feet three
inches high yellow complexion has two
small moles on the upper lip is one of the
persons manumitted by Richard Hopkins by
deed dated the sixteenth day of April in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight seven
hundred and ninety six and that she was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 26.th day of April 1832
Eliza Matthews
     Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne
Arundel County Court do hereby Certify
that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named Eliza Matthews
                                                          aged
