Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

right cheek is one of the persons manumitted by Casper
Morris and wife by deed dated the sixth day of august in the
year Eighteen hundred and forty four and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 12 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that the bearer hereof named Thomas West
aged about twenty two years about five feet five and a
half Inches high brown Complexion has a small scar in the
forehead was free born, and that he was raised in the
County aforesaid
    Issued the 13 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named William Maxey
aged about twenty five years about five feet six and a half
Inches high very bright Complexion long straight hair has a
scar on the left arm is the Identical person manumitted by
Ezra Sheckells by deed dated the fourth day of November in
the year Eighteen hundred and forty four and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 13 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named William H
Shorter aged about twenty seven years about five feet three
and a half Inches high brown Complexion has a small
scar on the forehead was free born and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 13 day of November 1844
