Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named Rachel Hobbs aged about twenty
four years about five feet three Inches high yellow Complexion
has a scar on the right wrist is one of the persons
manumitted by Samuel Cheston by deed dated the twenty
seventh day of march in the year Eighteen hundred and
forty four, and that she was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 12 day of November 1844


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court
do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction
that the bearer hereof named William Smith aged about
forty years about five feet ten Inches high dark complexion
has a large scar on the back of the left hand is one of the
persons manumitted by Casper Morris and and his wife by
deed dated the sixth day of august in the year Eighteen hundred
and forty four and that he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 12 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court do
hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof named John Davis aged about twenty four
years about five feet seven and a half Inches high brown
Complexion has a small mole on the back of the right wrist
is one of the persons manumitted by Casper Morris and wife
by deed dated the sixth day of august in the year Eighteen
hundred and forty four and that he was raised in the County
aforesaid
    Issued the 12 day of November 1844


    State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to my
satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Ned Johnson
aged about thirty two years about six feet high black
