Anne Arundel County Court Certificates of Freedom, 1831-1844

    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit:    I William
S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County Court do hereby
Certify that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that
the bearer hereof named Jacob Owings aged about twenty
one years about five feet Eight Inches high black
Complexion has a small scar on the right cheek and
another on the back of the right hand and the little
finger of the left hand crooked was free born, and that
he was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 28th day of September 1840


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel
County Court do hereby Certify that it hath been
proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof
named Caroline Parker aged about twenty
years about five feet and three quarters of an
Inch high, brown Complexion has a small
mole on the right cheek and has a scar on
each of the little fingers was free born, and that
she was raised in the County aforesaid
    Issued the 28th day of September 1840


    Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit
              I William S Green, Clerk of Anne Arundel County
Court do hereby Certify that it hath been proved to
my satisfaction that the bearer hereof named Phillis
Boston aged about twenty five years about five feet
four and a half inches high dark Complexion has a
Scar on the right hand is one of the persons manumitted
by William Pritchard by deed dated the twenty
ninth day of September in the year Eighteen hundred
and twenty two and that she was raised in the
County aforesaid
    Issued the 29th day of Sept.r 1840
