97 twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten that his freedom commences on this day and that the said negro man named Allen was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 1.st day of April 1817 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto man named Philip aged about thirty three years about five feet four inches high bright complexion with a scar upon the left wrist and has lost the finger next the little finger of the right hand is the identical person manumitted by John Chew by deed dated the twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten and that his freedom commenced on this day and that the said negro man named Philip was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 1st day of April 1817 State of Maryland Anne Arundel County Sct I hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Abigail aged about thirty years about five feet one and an half inches high of a brown complexion with a small scar upon the left arm was free born and that the said negro woman Abigail was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 24th day of April 1817 |
