146 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Elisha Brogden aged about twenty one years about five feet six and an half Inches high black Complexion, has a scar upon the left shin just below the knee was free born and raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 4th day of September 1819 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro woman named Charity aged about twenty six years about five feet two and an half Inches high brown Complexion no perceptible mark is the Identical person manumitted by Joseph Evans by deed dated the seventh day of March in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred and four, that his freedom Commenced on the twenty second day of August Eighteen hundred and Eighteen and was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 7th day of Sep 1819 renewed 27.th Aug.t 1823 having been proved to be stolen Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro named George aged about twenty seven years about five feet two and an half Inches high black complexion a small scar upon the back of the right hand This Certe Cancelled & new certe issd recd in folio 200 |
