bearing date the Ninth day of October in the year of our Lord one
thousand eight hundred and twenty two was proved and recorded in the said Office on the fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three in Liber T. H. H. N.o 1 folio 167 and that the said William Drury by his said will among other things did devise and direct that all his other slaves should be free at the death or marriage of his wife whichsoever should first happen and that the children of such slaves born in the meantime should also be free at the same time their parents were And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony as is satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Dinah Lane whose height is about five feet; whose age is about twenty five years; whose complexion is light; and who as appears by the said Will and Testimony became free on the intermarriage of the deceased's widow with a certain Aaron Meekins is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Dinah Lane was raised in Anne Arundel County and has a scar on the left elbow In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my (Seal) name and affixed the seal of my office this eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two Thomas T. County The State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to Wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that on an examination of the Records and Papers in the Office of the Register of Wills for Anne Arundel County it appears that the last Will and Testament of Richard Cromwell late of the County aforesaid, deceased, bearing date the tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four was proved and recorded in the said office on the eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four in Liber I. G. N.o 2 folio 292 and that the said Richard Cromwell by his said will among other things did devise and direct that his yellow boy Stephen shall be set free at the age of twenty five years. And I do further Certify That it hath been proved by such Testimony as is satisfactory to me that the Bearer hereof negro Stephen whose height is about five feet nine and a half inches; whose age is about thirty four years; whose complexion is yellow; and who as appears by the said Will and Testimony became free sometime about the year of Eighteen hundred and twenty three, is the identical person who was manumitted or freed as aforesaid and that the said negro Stephen was raised |
