3½      Recorded the 5th day of November 1844


          Know all men by these presents that I Emmerson Thompson of Anne
Arundel County in the State of maryland for and in consideration of the sum of
one hundred and fifty dollars current money to me in hand paid by Robert
Plummer of Calvert County in the said State at and before the sealing and
delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I the said Emmerson Thompson do
hereby acknowledge have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do
bargain grant and sell unto the said Robert Plummer his Executors administrators
and assigns my Crop of Tobacco and corn made and remaining on Mr Samuel
Smiths farm in Anne Arundel County and State aforesaid also 1 bay mare 1 brindle
Cow 1 Red Cow 1 spotted Heifer 1 Red heiffer and mare in the possession of the said
Emmerson Thompson  To have and To hold all and singular the above mentioned
property and other the premises above bargained and sold or mentioned and intended
so to be to the said Robt Plummer his Executors administrators and assigns for
ever and I the said Emmerson Thompson for myself my heirs Executors and
administrators all and singular the aforesaid or above mentioned property
and other the premises unto the said Robert Plummer his Executors administrators
and assigns against me the said Emmerson Thompson my Executors and administrators
and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and
will warrant and for ever defend by these presents of all and singular which said
property aforesaid mentioned and described and other the premises as  In Witness
whereof I the said Emmerson Thompson have hereunto affixed my hand and seal the
twenty ninth day of october one thousand Eight hundred and forty four

           On the back of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

       State of maryland Anne Arundel County to wit:  On this 29 day of October 1844
before me one of the Justices of the peace in and for the State and County aforesaid appeared
Emmerson Thompson and acknowledge the within instrument of writing to be her act
and deed according to the true intent and meaning of the same and the acts of assembly
in such case made and provided and agreeably with the true intent meaning and intention
thereof as collateral security for the sum or sums of money in and within
