administrators and assigns all my interest right and title in Comon equity
in and to all and singular the secured and growing Crops of Tobacco Corn
wheat Oats upon the farm as plantation of the said James S Owens upon which
I have been acting as manager or overseer since the first day of January Eighteen
hundred and forty three also all my interest right and title in law or in equity in
and to one bay mare and Colt and two Cows  To have and To hold all and singular
the said Crops secured and growing horses & Cattle above bargained and sold or
mentioned and intended so to be to the said James S Owens his Executors
administrators and assigns for ever and I the said John Hardesty for myself
my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the said secured and
growing Crops horses and cattle above mentioned and other the premises unto
the said James S Owens his Executors administrators and assigns against me the
said John Hardesty my Executors and administrators and assigns against me the
person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these
presents of all and singular which said Crops secured and growing horses and cattle
and other the premises I the said John Hardesty have put the said James S Owens
in full possession by delivering to him the said James S Owens the whole of the
Crops growing and secured horses and cattle in the name of the whole premises
hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be so unto the said
James S Owens as aforesaid  In Witness whereof I the said John Hardesty have
hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this seventeenth day of October Anno
Domini one thousand Eight hundred and forty three

          At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit

    Anne Arundel County State of maryland to wit:  On this 17 day of October
1843 personally appears before me the subscriber a Justice of the peace in and for
Anne Arundel County aforesaid John Hardesty and known to me as the Identical
person mentioned in and as having signed the above instrument of writing and
acknowledges before me that the above instrument of writing is his act and deed
and that the within mentioned growing and secured Crops of Tobacco Cover
wheat and Oats horses & Cattle are the property of the said James S Owens
and that he has delivered all and singular the said growing and secured
Crops of Tobacco Corn wheat and Oats horses and Cattle unto the possession
of the said James S Owens for the Consideration therein mentioned
