174 these presents and every thing herein contained shall be utterly null and void In witness whereof the said Richard Swann hath hereunto set his hand and seal this Eighteenth day of april in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two Signed sealed & delivered in presence of R Swann (seal) Wm Glover At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Anne Arundel County to wit On this Eighteenth day of April in the year Eighteen hundred and forty two before me a Justice of the peace in and for said County personally appeared the above named Richard Swann and acknowledged the foregoing Instrument of writing to be his act and deed Exd d d Wm Glover chd 68 5½ Recorded the 18th day of April 1842 Know all men by these presents that I Hezekiah Linthicum of Anne Arundel County and the state of maryland for and in Consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars Current money to me in hand paid by Charles Smith of the County and state aforesaid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and delivered And by these presents do grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Charles Smith his heirs and assigns my negro Girl Sinai slave for life and aged about ten years which said negro slave Sinai I will warrant and defend to the said Charles Smith his heirs Executors and administrators and assigns against me my heirs executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whomsoever In witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal on this fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Wm Shipley Hezekiah Linthicum (seal) At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit State of maryland Anne Arundel County Sc On this fifteenth day of november in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty one before me the Subscriber a Justice of the peace of the state of maryland in and for said County personally did appear Hezekiah Linthicum and acknowledged the foregoing bill of sale to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning thereof and the acts of assembly in such Cases made and provided chd Acknowledged before Wm Shipley Justice of the peace $.38 ½ Recorded the 20th day of April 1842 |
