140 by John D Merrican at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain and sell unto the said John D Merrican his Executors administrators and assigns one Negro Boy named Lloyd aged about seven years a slave for life To have and To hold all and Singular the said Negro Boy Lloyd above bargained and sold or mentioned or intended so to be to the said John D Merican his Executors administrators and assigns for ever and the said Richard Linthicum administrator for myself my heirs Executors and administrators all and singular the said Negro Boy Lloyd unto the said John D Merican his Executors administrators and assigns against me the said Richd Linthicum administrator aforesaid my Executors and administrators and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of November Eighteen hundred and forty Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Richa Linthicum administrator (seal) A H Penington of the estate of the late Vachel Kirby At the foot of the aforegoing was thus written to wit Baltimore City S.s Be it remembered that on this Ninth day of Oct.r 1841 before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for said City appears Richard Linthicum administrator of the Estate of the Late Vachel Kirby and acknowledges the above Instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the true intent and meaning thereof Acknowledged before A H Penington paid 48 Recorded the 26th day of October 1841 Know all Men by these presents that I Benjamin Clark Senior of Anne Arundel County and State of Maryland for the Consideration of the Sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars Current money of Maryland to me in hand paid by Haysel Haynes Free Coloured Man of the County and State aforesaid the receipt whereby I do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold and delivered and by these presents do Grant bargain sell and deliver unto the said Haysel Haynes the following property to wit Rhoda Haynes Coloured woman his wife for fifty dollars Adaline Haynes Couloured Girl his Daughter for fifty Dollars Fanny Haynes Couloured Child his Daughter for fifty Dollars which said property I will warrant and defend to the said Haysel Haynes his Executors and administrators and against every other person or persons whomsoever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my name and affixed my seal this first day of September Eighteen hundred and forty one Signed Sealed and Delivered in the his presence of William Downs Richard Carrick Benjamin x Clark (seal) mark |
