80 day of October Eighteen hundred and sixty three at which time she will be thirty years old and entitled to her freedom according to the last will and testament of Brice J. Worthington of Anne Arundel county deceased the said Rachel being the child of sophia named in said last will and testament and who was purchased by Basil & Lloyd Ridgely at the sale of the property of said Brice J. Worthington deceased which said negro Rachel I will warrant and defend to the said James Simpson his heirs and assigns against me the said William Simpson administrator of Charles R. Simpson deceased our heirs and assigns and against all manner of persons claiming or to claim by or under us or either of us in any manner whatsoever. In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands and affix our seals this second day of April eighteen hundred and fifty five signed sealed and delivered William Simpson (seal) in the presence of James Simpson (seal) R. C. Nicholson Maryland Howard County to wit: on this second day of Aprial Eighteen hundred and fifty five personally appears William Simpson administrator of Charles R. Simpson deceased before the subscriber a justice of the peace for said county and acknowledged the within instrument of writing to be his act and deed according to the purport true intent and meaning of the same and the acts of assembly in such case made and provided and I certify that I am acquainted with the parties signing said Instrument of writing and know them to be the persons they there represent themselves to be Acknowledged before me R. C. Nicholson On this second day of Aprial Eighteen hundred and fifty five appears James Simpson bargainee and makes oath the |
