by William J Timanus of the County & State aforesaid do hereby bargain and sell to the said William J. Timanus the following property to wit: one negro girl named Harriet Linn aged about eighteen years of light mulatto Complexion to Serve the Said William J Timanus for the period of ten years from the date hereof and then to be free manumitted and discharged from all manner of Servitude to me or any person claiming under me Witness my hand and Seal this Sixteenth day of March Eighteen hundred and fifty eight Witness John Ridgely (of Jno) John Holland (Seal) State of Maryland Howard County to wit: I hereby certify that on this Sixteenth day of march Eighteen hundred and fifty eight personally appeared before the Subscriber a Justice of the peace for the County aforesaid John Holland and acknowledged the aforegoing bill of Sale or Instrument of writing to be his act Also at the Same time appeared William J. Timanus the grantee above named and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of Almighty God that the Consideration Set forth in Said bill of Sale is true & bona fide as therein Set forth John Ridgely (of Jno) Received to be recorded on the 16th day of March 1858 Same day recorded and Examined per W W Watkins Clk |
