23 Addison Cooke) of the one part and Thomas Lansdale of Baltimore County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollars lawful money of the United States in hand paid by the said Thomas Lansdale to the said Anna Maria Ogle (Guardian as aforesaid) at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Thomas Lansdale his executors administrators and assigns one negro woman named Lucretia aged about thirty five years one negro boy named Frank aged about seventy years one negro girl named Agnes three years old and one negro child named Anne two years old slaves for life and the children of the said Lucretia. To have and to hold the said negroes slaves for life and the said Thomas Lansdale his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever. And the said Anna Maria Ogle (Guardian as aforesaid) for herself her heirs executors and administrators do covenant and agree to and with the said Thomas Lansdale to warrant and defend the sale of the said negroes slaves for life hereby sold unto the said Thomas Lansdale his executors administrators and assigns against all and every person and persons whomsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eleventh day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and fifty four Signed sealed and Anna M. Ogle (Seal) delivered in the presence Guardian of George A Cooke of E. C. Lyons State of Maryland Howard County to wit. Be it remembered and it is hereby certified that on this eleventh day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four before the subscriber a justice of the peace of the State of Maryland in and for Howard County personally appeared Anna Maria Ogle (Guardian of George Addison Cooke) she being known to me of my own knowledge to be the party of the first part to the foregoing instrument of writing and acknowledged the same to be her act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned E.
